An Irish Murder Mystery

Join your friends and enemies in a fun murder mystery hunt. You may not have much in common, but for tonight you’re all Irish and you all hate evil Dr. Degenerate. You’re off to a fancy dress party in the pub beside his mansion, where you plan to have a great time together complaining about how evil he is.

Until you find out that one of you has killed him…

An Irish Murder Mystery is designed to let all players enjoy themselves, showing off, playacting and generally messing. Bonus: you get to solve a murder!

How it works: once you’ve paid for our Murder Mystery you can download our PDF. One person in your group is the host. The host moves through the activities in the PDF and makes sure that everyone gets a chance to delight the group with their off-the-cuff wit and humour while also trying to solve the mystery. The host participates in the same way as the rest of the gang. The host also keeps things more or less on track and reads out a few details.

The solution to the mystery is password-protected on the site, so even if you’re the host and you have the PDF you won’t know the solution unless you cheat and check hometogether.me.

When you download the PDF, the host should allocate characters as soon as possible by giving each player a colour. Players can then check hometogether.me to find out more about their character and get ready for game day. Remind them to click the ‘todo’ button on their page and do the pre-game activity if they can. The rest of the instructions are in the PDF.

How long it takes: this depends on your group. Working through the activities as fast as possible to get to the answer will probably only take about half an hour, because we emphasise fun, not work. If everyone gets into character and hams it up and you don’t hustle to the end, it will take up to two hours.
